Qualified Counsellors
- We welcome qualified counsellors who hold a Diploma and are a member of BACP or equivalent.
Criteria for Student Volunteer Placements
- We require all students to be currently studying on a Level 4 Diploma counselling course.
- Students must be a member of BACP or equivalent.
- Student must hold a current DBS to work with vulnerable clients. If the student does not hold a current DBS, we can apply for one on their behalf, free of charge.
- Students should be receiving supervision from their college.
- It is important that students have a good knowledge of the bereavement model and an understanding of how loss affects people, however, consideration will be given to exceptional students who have experience in a listening role.
Supervision groups
It is essential and a requirement of placement, that the student attends our monthly Supervision groups. Where a student cannot attend our monthly Supervision group, he/she must notify the Co-ordinators and their Supervisor in advance with sufficient notice of their absence and the reason why. We meet the cost of monthly supervision however, trainee counsellors must meet the cost of the interim fortnightly session themselves.
